One of the most common questions we get from guests is: "What should I pack?" It's a fair question — Myrtle Beach is a beach destination, but it's also a full-service resort town with great restaurants, entertainment, and activities that go beyond the sand.

Here's our definitive packing list, built from years of hosting guests at Sunrise Oasis.

Before you start packing, know what's waiting for you. Sunrise Oasis is fully stocked with:

• Pool towels — provided for pool use; pack your own beach towels for the sand
• Full kitchen with cookware, dishes, glasses, and flatware
• Stocked coffee bar — coffee, tea, creamers, and honey ready to go
• Kettle for hot water
• Premium linens and extra pillows
• Hair dryer and iron
• Laundry detergent for the in-unit washer/dryer
• Basic toiletries to get you started

This means you can pack lighter than you think.

Bring:

• Sunscreen (SPF 30+ minimum — the South Carolina sun is serious)
• Sunglasses with UV protection
• A good beach hat or cap
• Reef-safe sunscreen if you're environmentally conscious
• Waterproof phone case or pouch
• A light cover-up for walking to/from the beach

Optional but nice:

• Portable Bluetooth speaker (waterproof)
• A good beach bag with a cooler compartment
• Snorkel gear if you enjoy it

Leave at home:

• Beach chairs — the property has them
• Beach umbrella — available at the property

Don't forget:

• Beach towels — pool towels are provided, but you'll want your own for the sand

Myrtle Beach is casual. You won't need much that's formal.

Pack:

• Swimsuits (2-3 is ideal — one can always be drying)
• Casual shorts and t-shirts for daytime
• A few nicer outfits for dinner out (smart casual is the standard)
• Light layers for evenings — it can get breezy on the balcony
• Comfortable walking shoes for the boardwalk and attractions
• Flip flops or sandals

Skip:

• Formal wear — there's nowhere you'll need it
• Heavy jackets (unless visiting in winter)
• More than 2 pairs of jeans

• Medications — bring everything you need; the nearest pharmacy is convenient but it's easier to have your own
• Phone charger and any adapters
• Reusable water bottle — you'll drink a lot of water in the heat
• Small first aid kit — sunburn spray, bandages, pain reliever
• Cash — most places accept cards, but a little cash is always useful for tips and small vendors

If you're traveling with children:

• Swim floaties or arm bands for young swimmers
• Sand toys (buckets, shovels)
• Rashguards for sun protection
• Snacks for the car/travel
• A small backpack they can carry themselves

Some things are easier to buy locally than to pack:

• Groceries — there's a grocery store nearby; stock up on arrival
• Sunscreen — if you forget, it's available everywhere
• Souvenirs — obviously
